Together with a group of colleagues, we were able to host 4th Annual New England Olympiada of Spoken Russian on Zoom on Sunday, April 5th.
Over 50 students from 11 colleges and universities took part in the event.
Two MIT students competed at the second year level (Alex Pouliot and Kinan Martin). Both students memorized a poem and recited it on video, which was assessed by a panel of judges. They also presented their speech / monologue live and answered follow-up questions, as well as heard other students present. Kinan, who is a first-year student at MIT, placed 1st in poem recitation, and 2nd in monologue.
