February 5-6, 2015, The MIT Program in Women’s and Gender Studies will convene an interdisciplinary symposium examining the intersections between gender studies and food studies, as well as the multifaceted roles played by men and women historically in the global production, distribution, and consumption of food, and in the contemporary food movement. Symposium themes will include food and identity in the context of migration and globalization; sustainability, hygiene and food science; and food in the literary and historical archive.
