Thomas Pletzinger is a German writer and translator. He was born in Münster in 1975 and grew up in the Ruhr area. He studied American Studies in Hamburg, then at the German Literature Institute Leipzig. He lives with his family in Berlin.

He is well-known for his first novel Bestattung eines Hundes, which was published in 2008 to wide acclaim. It has been translated into English as Funeral for a Dog: A Novel.
