From 1981 to 2021 Jane Dunphy taught many subjects at MIT in professional and cross-cultural communication, including Management Communication for Undergraduates, Advanced Workshop in Writing for Science and Engineering, Advanced Speaking and Critical Listening, Communicating across Cultures, and Communicating in American Culture. She also worked to collaborate with colleagues across MIT to help shape policies and practices in support of MIT’s diverse domestic and international community.
Beyond MIT, she designed research-grounded professional communication courses, seminars and workshops for domestic and international organizations, including the Masdar Institute (Abu Dhabi), the Vellore Institute of Technology (India), L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques, (France), Yaşar University (Turkey), and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
