Joseph Borkowski is the Systems Administrator & Instructional Technologist for Global Languages, providing instructional technology consulting and strategic guidance for the unit. Among many edtech topics for language instruction, he is interested in the role of technologies in mediating live communication, physical (and virtual) space as educational technology, situated language use through extended reality, and personalized scaffolding assisted by artificial intelligence. He is a graduate of Boston University’s Master of Education in Developmental Studies program, with a focus on Literacy and Language Education. He studied German and Theater as an undergraduate (and Language Resource Center worker) at Swarthmore College.
