Joseph Borkowski is the Systems Administrator & Instructional Technologist for Global Languages, providing instructional technology consulting and support for the unit. Among many edtech topics for language instruction, he is interested in the role of technologies in mediating live communication, physical (and now virtual) space as educational technology, and in simulated, situated language use through extended reality. He is a graduate of Boston University’s Master of Education in Developmental Studies program, with a focus on Literacy and Language Education. He studied German and Theater as an undergraduate (and Language Resource Center worker) at Swarthmore College. Borkowski became the President-Elect of NERALLT (the New England Regional Association for Language Learning Technology) in June of 2020.
