Students in 21G.012 Exploring Globalization through Chinese Food gathered for a hands-on cooking class.

MIT’s Technology Review has published a feature on the First-Year Experiment (FYE) subjects that were launched in AY 2019.

Among these subjects highlighted were Emma Teng’s Exploring Globalization through Chinese Food, the first SHASS FYE discovery subject. This year, 21G has three FYE subjects:

  • 21G.012 Exploring Globalization through Chinese Food, taught by Emma Teng;
  • 21G.013 Discovering Multilingual Boston: Voices of Immigrant Communities, taught by Rober Herr; and
  • 21G.014 Introduction to Russian Politics and Society, taught by Ekaterina Zabrovski
