Mariana San Martín is a Lecturer in Spanish, which she teaches from introductory to advanced levels. She also developed and leads 21G.715 Topics in Medicine and Public Health in the Hispanic World. Prior to joining MIT in 2014, San Martín taught Spanish at Harvard University and its study abroad program Argentina.

San Martín’s pedagogical foci include the psychology of language learning, the integration of digital tools in language pedagogy, visual arts in the language classroom, and beginning learner vocabulary growth. She is particularly interested in the practical applications of foreign language learning and students’ connection of language proficiency with their professional interests.
