During the Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) week, there was a “write a letter” event on March 16 in Lobby 10. Anyone in the MIT community could write a card for family or friends, and the MIT Library would help send them to destinations around the world.

Lecturer in Chinese Kang Zhou reported that students in Chinese 2 (21G.102) actively participated in this event, writing cards in Chinese to families and friends (and providing an English translation of their messages).

“Although they have only been learning Chinese for less than a year, their sincere greetings and beautiful Chinese characters still convey their blessings and thoughts for their loved ones!” Zhou said. “Students who participated in this event not only experienced a sense of achievement in learning Chinese, but more importantly, using their newly acquired language skills allowed them to express love and emotions in a different way, helping to build connections with their families.”
