The first feature film of director Lila Avilés, La Camarista (The Chambermaid) depicts the day-to-day life of Eve, a maid in an upscale hotel in Mexico City looking for her place in the world, trying to get ahead in her many aspirations. This intimate portrayal of female workers in the service industry, offering the viewers the opportunity to reflect on these sometimes invisibilized jobs.
