IAP Chinese Abroad

 

Learn Chinese in Taiwan over IAP

MIT Global Languages offers 21G.S04 and 21G.S05 Special Subject: IAP Chinese Abroad in Taiwan in January 2025, hosted in collaboration with National Sun Yat-sen University.

Students will participate in daily language classes. Additional cultural and experiential programs will enable students to explore the diversity of Taiwanese culture, history, and industry. Language instruction will be conducted by Dr. Haohsiang Liao and Lecturer in Chinese Tong Chen. Class is 9 credits. Program prerequisites are Chinese III Regular or Chinese II Streamlined.

Where

National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) is a research university located in Taiwan’s largest port city Kaohsiung.

Program costs

Program Fee: $600
Other estimated costs: $3,600

The program fee will cover accommodation and the cost of campus facilities and program activities. Other estimated costs include airfare, local transport, visa application fees (if applicable), meals, and discretionary spending, which are not included in the program fee.

Applications will be reviewed without regard for financial aid need. Selected students will be notified of need-based aid available to them at the time of acceptance.
