Class year: 2027
Major: Mechanical Engineering (Course 2)
Through meaningful service trips to Juárez, Mexico, I discovered my enthusiasm for Spanish language and culture. These experiences taught me how language creates genuine human connections beyond just actions. My fascination with Spanish has grown through diverse experiences—from walking over 100 miles of the Camino del Norte in Spain to exploring Latin American comics and film in my MIT courses, where I discovered favorites like the thriller “Contratiempo” and the comic “Lamia”—all of which have shown me the incredible diversity and richness within Spanish-speaking cultures. Professionally, I’m pursuing a Spanish minor at MIT and see language skills as essential for broadening perspectives and creating opportunities in our interconnected world. To destress from the intense coursework at MIT, I enjoy participating in varsity sports at MIT, being part of my dorm house government, and exploring Boston with friends.
