As one learns to approach learning a different culture’s language, it is easier to understand that cultures ways of thinking or acting, and traditions. Even sense of humor can be affected by the framing of the language it is in, such as in puns with homophones to play off double-entendres. Understanding and accounting for some of these differences can prevent misunderstandings, relieve tension, and resolve conflict, regardless of what field of study we are in.
