2021 German Studies Excellence Award

Sponsored by Global Languages and MIT-Germany / MISTI, the award honors students who exhibit strong language skills and creativity in the study of German language and culture in courses at MIT. Congratulations to everyone!

At this year’s award ceremony on May 4, 2021 via Zoom, Emma Teng, Director of Global Languages; Eric Goldberg, Advisor in German and Professor of History; and Justin Leahey, Managing Director of MISTI-Germany; together with the German Group and students of German, celebrated students’ accomplishment in German Studies during this academic year.

First Prize

Stefan Damchevski, ’‘23, Chemical Engineering Major; for his paper, “Übergang von der Engelwelt in die reale Welt durch Farbe in Himmel über Berlin von Wim Wenders” from 21G.420 Visual Histories: German Cinema 1945 to Present.
