Dear Global Languages community,

Today we celebrate Commencement for the Class of 2020. This year the ceremony, like so much in our world, will be virtual. And while it won’t feel the same without the traditional processions and assembly in Killian Court, the underlying joy, pride, and sense of achievement remain the same. All of this is symbolized in the turning of the Brass Rat – and nothing can change that! Indeed, the Class of 2020 has the added accomplishment of having crossed the finish line under extraordinary circumstances. And so we salute you doubly Class of 2020! I know we will look back on this moment in history with a real sense of triumph in overcoming adversity.
